Bocas del Toro, Panama

This is amazing. How come I´m not writing it down?

And if a hammock eye´s view of a deserted beach in a Panamanian island archipelago won´t conjure those thoughts, than I don´t know what will.

See, I meant to start a blog when I started my Latin American journey ten weeks ago, when I first touched down in San Jose, Costa Rica. But if you know projects, and if you know Caitlin, you know they tend to take on depth and meaning in theory that no reality could ever sustain. Which means that now, two months and change from el inicio del sendero, I still have no public work, no good words for my precious friends and family, to speak of. My poor parents totally boggled about what the hell their daughter´s doing down there in Panama.

Mountains and waterfalls and friendships and first impressions all stuck upstairs, totally unshared, in my admittedly cluttered head. I promise to do better.

Starting... now!

Bocas del Toro. It´s an island archipelAYgo (recent grammar lesson... thank you Erik!) off the northern Caribbean coast of Panama and all I can say is, it´s one of the most beautiful places I´ve ever seen and I must leave it quickly or I will die. Muddy hikes through the jungle, check. Deserted white sand beaches, check. Starfish gardens and beach cruisers and straight up island style, check.

A job offer from the best bosses in the world at the coolest hostel ever, check (check it out! http://www.mondotaitu.com/) Way too much party for a girl with no apparent off switch... check. Ohhhh Bocas, I love you too, too much to stay.
